Today has been a nice day. I went with Jeanette to the Asbury Community Chapel(ACC) women's Tea Light Connections - this is an anual event where the women's council members and the leaders of various Bible studies or ministries for women have an opportunity to highlight their ministry or study before the kickoff date so that the women at ACC have a chance to hear about the opportunities and spend time praying about them before they need to make the decision to get plugged in and where they'd like to do so. It was beautifully decorated, by women for women, so of course this would be the case! And the different ministry (many of them were prayer based) opportunities seemed intriguing, as well as the Bible study for the fall - one going through the book of Luke.
Nic and I are still trying to find the church in the area that we'd like to get plugged into. Lord willing, this will not take too many more weeks of visiting different ones. I have a longing to get involved with women and I am praying that He will lead us to just the right spot where Nic and I can get to know people in the Body and love them and, in turn, be loved by them. There is huge value in having discipleship relationships where accountability, wisdom and committment are shared. These people in our lives need to be both older, someone to speak wisdom into my life, and younger, someone with whom I can share the wisdom God has given me.
Anyway, just a few thoughts about today...
