Quiet Sunday

Today we went to ACC for church - we liked it a lot. Great Breaking of Bread service and solid teaching during the main service. I think this may be the church we choose to stick with for the duration of our stay in Iowa. It's family oriented and we have felt most welcome in our visit there. I am eager to get involved however we're needed and to start up in the women's Bible study next week. The study is going through the book of Luke.

This afternoon has been wonderful. We went to Aldi after church and got groceries to make nachos and had nachos for lunch while we watched Juno. (Not nearly as wonderful as if we were able to watch football, but with no TV, we are doing the best we can!) I've been working on my cross stitch, reading my Bible and getting ready for my interview(s) on Tuesday! Nic has been studying and working on homework. He's so diligent - I can learn a lot from him!

I missed a call this afternoon from Old Navy. I have an interview there on Tuesday afternoon - almost immediately after my interview with the surgery center. I put in an application at Old Navy and a couple other retail places to see if I could get something going part time while I am waiting for something to open up at either a hospital or, now I'm praying, while I may have my foot in the door at the surgery center that maybe that will turn into a full time position. We will see! I am eager for what the Lord is going to do. It has felt like such a long waiting period. Last friday was our 4th full week here and it is crazy to me to look back and think of all the work I could have done since we got here, but that's not what God had in mind. So, I'm excited that things are beginning to look like I'll have more of a schedule. I am thankful for the time God allowed for me to settle in and get used to being here, however, I am ready to start working! I really think this will help to ease Nic's load, as well. He is feeling pressure to work and provide...as a good man would, so I am excited to be able to make money so he can feel totally free to pour himself into his studies and do well at them (what he and I are here for) and work if he has extra time and not because he must.

That's all for now...I'll probably find something else to blog about soon. I am liking the release that it provides to get my thoughts down....
