We're so excited for our new Baby!

I'm pregnant! That's right, we're expecting a baby in July!

We really can't believe it...but we're ecstatic, anyway! Here's the story...roughly:

The days leading up to my "missed period" I was feeling a lot of the same crampy feelings as I usually did, so I was expecting to start my period as usual, but when this notorious Wednesday...which was also our 3 year anniversary...came and went I began to wonder. Both Nic and I decided it would be best to wait at least a few extra days before taking a pregnancy test because we've had these "scares" before and they always had turned out with a negative test result. But come Saturday night, I just couldn't stand it - my thoughts were that if it was negative, well then, at least I would know and could stop thinking about a BABY! :) So, that night we went...to the dollar store - haha - I guess, with the chances of a negative result, we weren't ready to invest anything huge at this point :) The next morning, I woke up early...I couldn't stand the excitement...and while Nic was still in bed I went to the bathroom and...well, you know what I had to do...Waited the allotted 3 minutes and there was definitely a pink line! Yay, I could hardly stand it, I would have screamed out loud, but it was early, and the rest of the Riley family were all still in bed! I left the stick on the counter and snuck back into our room and with the most enormous smile on my face burst out a giggle and said to Nic "There's a PINK line! There's defnintely a pink line - We're going to have a BABY!" Oh, and he was so excited too, in fact, while I was in there taking the test he was thinking to himself "I hope she's pregnant" :) And I am! Then I asked him to come look, he just had to see this pink line for himself! ...so he came, with a camera, silly Nic :) Oh we were so excited, hugging, kissing, you know, all that :) On the following Wednesday, I took another test, a more expensive one, not that it matters, really, either you have the hcg hormone because you're pregnant or you don't, ya know? And I have it, so there's a sweet little baby growing inside, I am so baffled. Anyway, we thought we could keep it a secret for a couple...months... YEAH RIGHT! The word is out and we couldn't be more excited to have shared the news with all our friends and family.

My symptoms so far haven't been too extreme, but they're normal. No morning sickness, I'm more hungry than usual, have to pee way more often, and have tender breasts (sorry, but I do!). Other than that, nothing really to note, I am about 6 weeks along, so baby is very very tiny right now. I am most excited, at this point for the first time I can hear/see the baby's heartbeat. I think that may make it feel more real, especially since my symptoms haven't been a total nuisance.

That's all I can think of at this point, plus I'm off to work at Old Navy for a few hours tonight. Please, by all means, if you have any questions of us, let me know :) I'd be more than happy to answer them. I've been a little scatterbrained lately, and would love to blame it on my baby, but I think that was a preexisting condition :)
