We are almost a full week into our 90 day Bible challenge and are feeling the challenge every day! It has been a lot of reading - and the benefits have been felt so much already. It is so exciting to be reading and come to a portion of a story and realize that I actually know what is being referred to and can remember when the last time was that we "were in that place" from a handful of chapters ago. We are also discovering the fluidity of the stories we learned years ago as children in Sunday School - that they all belong together and make perfect sense when they're read in conjunction with the others! This may sound like an elementary revelation, but having God's Word opened up that much more to our hearts has not only impacted our preconceived ideas about Scripture, but I can tell in our interaction with each other and those around us that our minds are being challenged and renewed in a way that is most definitely having a profound effect on who we are.
We are 28 chapters into Exodus so far, and I think tomorrow we'll be starting Leviticus....and then on to Numbers!!! ;)
For those of you journeying with us - continue to look heavenward and find rest for your souls in God's Word! We pray that it is not a burden (the huge amount of chapters each day), but rather, a pure joy to sit at the feet of God.
That is SO awesome Melissa! You are inspiring me...maybe I should take this challenge??? I need to pray more about this and see. I always bite off more than I can chew but this is the best thing I could ever do that with. hmmmmmmmm
