Ethiopia Here I Come!

On the 30th of January I'm going to be hopping on a plane to Washington DC on my way out of the country - to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!

I blogged a little while ago about the possibility that we may be going to Africa - Well, that time is here! So sad to say that Nic will not be joining us, but I am excited none-the-less...

Our friends, Dave and Kami Oldenkamp are adopting a child. I am unsure how much I can post by way of details - this is sensitive with the government of that country; so perhaps more details to come!

The trip will be a little over a week long and I'm feeling totally blessed to be able to come "along for the ride" so to speak, but mostly, I am glad to be there to support these dear friends of mine in this life-changing experience.
I'm sure it's going to go by super fast when it comes - I can't believe it's only going to be a little over a week before we're leaving! I'll do my best to document the trip with pictures. My Mom, bless her heart, bought me a journal to jot down notes and experiences along the way. I have no idea if I'll have internet access. I hope so, at least to a small extent...so I can contact Nic! I'll miss him terribly! And so, I'll have to blog blog blog all about it with pictures when I return...

I am eagerly anticipating this journey with you, Dave and Kami!

We love you so much!

To God be the glory both now and forever.

  2. Hey Meliss! Enjoyed your post :-) I think we should have internet access, however I have heard that the server there blocks blogger. But you can set it up to email your blog posts. This is how: go to your dashboard, then settings, then email & mobile, then make an Email Posting Address. Then you go into your email, type up your post, email to that address and it'll post on your blog. Pretty cool! So, you should be able to blog the whole time. Just don't forget what the address is. :-)
