Update

Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping up very well with my blog, so I'll have to re-cap some things I wish I had more time to dive into. That's okay :)

Nic and I had the BEST time at our Weekend to Remember. We learned more than we thought we would, were inspired to be more selfless, and entirely enjoyed a weekend away together where the subject was the welfare of our marriage. We really benefited from the curriculum and felt really loved by the speakers and their heart for our marriage (and the 200 others there with us!) If we needed a jump start on our second year, we sure got it! ;) ...Just a side-note with this...earlier this week we had a pregnancy scare since recently I forgot my BC...oops. Test was negative, though, and surprisingly, we were a little disappointed. Anyway, I am thinking of getting off the pill...not to get pregnant, per se, and I don't think it's effecting my body in a huge way, just maybe giving me anti-sex desires sometimes, that's mean.

Happy Thanksgiving! Yesterday Nic and I went to his parents house and enjoyed a fun day with his family. I helped a lot with dinner, which was fun and helped me to feel a little more like a member and not a moocher! :) Steve and Carol gifted us, for our anniversary, with a popcorn maker, popcorn kernels, a magnificent popcorn bowl...and the best part of all - a subscription for Netflix! :) We are so excited to do movies this way!! Anyway, the boys played some football outside, I played for a little while, but decided I'd rather go inside and talk with the ladies - go figure ;) We had a delicious dinner, not too traditional, which was fun and quite different for me. After the festivities, the boys and I watched Be Kind Rewind. Pretty interesting movie...and I guess it's based off a true story. After the movie, it was getting late, but we stayed later - this is uncharacteristic for us usually because we're always having to think of our early morning the next day. But since we have today off we had no worries :)

Tomorrow, we're going down to my parents for another Thanksgiving feast. Nic and I are going to get a deep frier and do up the turkey and most of the fixin's. I'm excited to see my parents <3

  1. The marriage retreat sounds like a blast, I'd love to go to one with Aaron someday! Yay for Netflix, we LOVE having it (especially since we don't have cable). Enjoy your second Thanksgiving feast, deep fried turkey is delicious!

  2. yeah BC can mess up your emotions. I have a couple stories from our 6 years of marriage but we won't go into that. teehee. . . Anyway, no pregnancy is s oops for God. I've know women who've gotten pregnant while on BC. So, remember that no matter what happens, God always knows what's best. (more so then you know)
Glad you enjoyed your weekend. I hope Dave and I can go to it next year here in CO. Marriage maintenance is so important BEFORE you have marrital problems.
You Thanks Giving sounded like a lot of fun. Glad you got time with both families over the weekend. :-)
